As an artist, I want you to hug each other. Never miss that opportunity. You can tag me in the photo of your hug next to the painting: @rafapastart. That way I know that your mission is accomplished. Thank you.

Body < mind < cats < soul

2024 mixed media 70 x 50

I firmly believe that the soul and consciousness go beyond matter and are capable of intertwining and weaving with others. Including animals. In the work we see a girl I loved, who saved the cat on her left. That’s how I saw her at the time and that’s how I want you to see her.

Insight 24

2024 oil on canvas 50 x 70

€ 2.100

Polish artist, approaches the world of art for more than 10 years creating works that decorate and decorate buildings, apartments and premises in Poland and abroad.

The perception of reality is the focus of his research; the communicative power of his abstract works is totalizing and at the same time mysterious, in fact, through its shapes, its colors, its lights and its shadows, Denis manages to create unique interior landscapes. In the series of works “Insight”, creates jet without preparation, giving rise to unique works.

Each picture seems to require a continuous and intense interaction with the user investing him with a totalizing emotionality strongly involving every sense.

Suggestions that are grafted into feelings and emotions, captured by the artist with his specific sensitivity and translated into matter and color.

Another protagonist in his works is color: the use of bright and saturated colors in order to capture the attention of the viewer and guide him through the composition of the work. This bold use of color creates an engaging and stimulating visual effect.

Archeologie di melagrane #2 – Annotazioni

2024 vegetable paint and combustion material on canvas 60 x 60

€ 2.100

Truth is a deconsecrated beast, with teeth

Pomigliano D’Arco 2024

poetry

To be unveiled it’s probably one of the most frightening things ever: no filters, no dimmers, we become veritable objects. However, the strength of unveiling lies precisely in this matter: can the one observing the unveiled truly be a subject in complete control? Is art inert and defenseless in its every form?
The influence of beauty is pre-cognitive, subcutaneous: if we fashion it as simply an object, then this concept explains much more about us than about art itself.

___

Adaption

2024 mixed media 65 x 45

€ 500

Adaption was made especially for the Nartwork Exhibition “Outward Soul” and made during my July Art Residency at R.A.R.O. Barcelona in Barcelona. I was inspired by the environment of Barcelona and this played a big part when choosing the patterns and colors within the piece. This piece is all about making sure that we do not forget ourselves when change both exciting and challenging comes our way. To hold onto what makes us unique and not to loose ourselves in the process.

Untitled

2017 overpainted photograph digitally processed on paper/aluminum plate (edition 12/20) 70 x 50

€ 500

The picture shows a woman drying herself in towels after swimming. She looks into the distance, unconcerned. It is late summer. What is going through the woman’s mind? The wavy pattern scratched out of the picture shows what is invisible. Perhaps it is the vulnerability of human beings and their transience, or perhaps it is just the wind rushing loudly around her ears. The waves are like a curtain through which you can see – the picture takes on a new meaning. The viewer should remain in the dark as to what exactly the waves mean, and yet they show what is hidden.”

Procne – Apoteosi della rondine

2023 mixed media on wood 50 x 50

Rifrazioni

2024 mixed media on canvas 50 x 40

€ 800,00

“Strange, as something never described my fate looks at me”

(Rainer Maria Rilke, The Lover)

Rainer Maria Rilke, who sounded out intensively the border area between life itself and the individual, in his writing repeatedly deepened the experience of how alien one’s own life with its limitations appears to oneself exactly at the moment when one feels connected to the greater sphere of live. Beauty that feeds on this source therefore also challenges. Occasionally it happens that such a glance from one of my works – like this one – falls on me.

L’armonia vivente

Verona, febbraio 2024
Poetry

The golden hug

2024 acrylic on canvas 80 x 30

€ 360

The Golden Hug shows a tender moment when a girl hugs a fish, symbolizing the beauty in small, everyday acts of kindness. In my work, the fish represents deep emotions and inner values, and the hug represents how even the simplest acts of care can hold great meaning. This piece asks a simple question: Can small, kind gestures be the true source of something sacred?

The painting highlights how a brief moment of kindness can become much bigger.

Annunciation

2024 oil on canvas 45 x 60

€ 1.250

My work created for the exhibition is Annunciation. It is a popular subject of Renaissance painting. Florentine artists also painted it many times. Gabriel Angel comes to Virgin Mary and announces that she will be the Mother of Jesus. A floating celestial phenomenon. They are accompanied by two angels. The image format is threefold, but takes place in an imaginary space. The inner soul is touched by the outer.

Parts of my soul

2024 photography 50 x 50

€ 800

Parts of My Soul explores light and darkness through stark contrasts. Against a deep blue background, a luminous, almost fiery silhouette stands in the center, evoking an inner questioning. Red and yellow hues create vibrant energy, while bursts of light on the left and pops of green on the lower right bring a balance of mystery and vitality, reflecting emotional and spiritual introspection.

Through my head

2024 photography 50 x 70

€ 800

For the work Through My Head, abstract and blurred shapes mingle in an explosion of colors, creating an effect of rapid movement and fleeting thought. The bright strokes, mainly in yellow and green tones, seem to represent a flow of intense ideas or thoughts passing through the mind, while the darker background evokes the unconscious or unknown. The image suggests a mental whirlwind, an inner exploration where energy and instability meet to capture the essence of ever-changing thought.

The wine had gone to the head

2023 oil on canvas 53 x 27

€ 2.800

At the ”Outward Soul” group exhibition at the Onart Gallery in Florence, Italy I exhibit ”The Wine Had Gone To The Head” oil painting, which tells the story of the influence of drinking wine on expression of the true self of a human being. After ”The Wine Had Gone To The Head” the soul of the person drinking wine is going out and it is hard to hold on a social mask. Attention: ”In vino veritas” – your social mask is in danger and your soul, if you have a soul, is seen for others. If you don’t have a soul, which is quite common, your lack of soul is seen for others.

Beauty, coldness and warmth

2024 acrylic on canvas 90 x 60

€ 650

I am a teacher by profession, and the events of recent years—such as the
pandemic, wars, and climate change—have deeply unsettled people. This is
especially evident in everyday life, where young people in particular struggle with
uncertainty about the future. As an artist, I aim to convey these emotions and
experiences through my work, using vibrant colors as a means of expression. In
this context, “”Outward Soul”” serves as a metaphor for how our inner world and the
soul, as expressed through art, can become visible and impact both the artist and
the viewer.

Trapped

2024 mixed media on canvas 70 x 50

€ 1.000

As an artist of Sudanese and German descent, my recent work is dedicated to my country of birth, Sudan, which has been experiencing war for the past year and a half.
Titled  – Trapped – this painting captures the essence of the human spirit struggling against the backdrop of conflict and despair. The work visually interprets the internal turmoil and emotional landscape of a war-torn life, mirroring the external chaos faced by individuals and communities.
The painting’s dark, brooding tones symbolize the profound loss and upheaval experienced by those displaced from their homes. Abstract forms and textured surfaces convey the depth of suffering and the fragility of hope. Amidst the darkness, subtle, hopeful elements emerge, representing the enduring desire for peace and the resilience of the human soul.
“Trapped” embodies my introspective journey and profound empathy for the plight of the Sudanese people, encapsulating both

Familia emigrante

2022 oil on paper 48 x 61

Price € 2.000

__

This work that I have created represents the family as we depart from our land in search of a prosperous life. I use symbols that form expression codes, such as the ocean and boats, to convey the complex emotions and challenges we face as emigrants. I feel the anguish of the journey, the attachment to what I carry within me as I begin the search for a new future, a new life.
In my painting, the ocean stands as a powerful symbol representing the journey, the uncertainty, and the vastness of life. It symbolizes departure, the separation from the
homeland, and the immensity of the possibilities that lie before us. I also interpret the ocean as a reminder that life is full of mysteries and challenges, just as its depth and sometimes unpredictability reflect our own experiences.
The boats, on the other hand, represent hope and the will to explore the unknown. They are vehicles that take us towards new horizons and opportunities. In my work, the boats embody the courage of those who venture on the journey. They can be small boats or majestic sailboats, but they all share the determination to cross the ocean in search of a better future. Additionally, they symbolize the connection with family and community, where people support each other and face the challenges of the journey together.
In summary, the symbolism of the ocean and boats in my work represents the search, hope, and unity in the journey of life. It is a reminder that, although we face difficulties, there is always a horizon to discover and a destination waiting for us on the other side of the sea.

Flores de primavera

2022 oil on paper 61 x 48

Price € 2.000

___

This artwork that I created as part of my pictorial series “Miamians” is deeply rooted in my personal and emotional experience. The inspiration behind this piece comes from family unity, a theme that has always been fundamental in my life. Through this painting, I seek to convey values such as understanding, love, joy, and dedication to those who are part of my inner circle. The key phrase of ho’oponopono, a Hawaiian belief related to love and reconciliation, intertwines with every stroke of my brush. It’s as if the words flow through the painting, reminding me of the importance of healing and maintaining meaningful connections with others. I chose to use the oil technique to allow my brush to move freely in the branches and flowers that make up the work. Each brushstroke represents a moment, an emotion, and a part of me. The symbolic and contemporary style that I have captured in this creation is my way of expressing my unique vision of the world and my deep appreciation for family. In summary, “Miamians” is more than a series of paintings; it is a window to my heart and an invitation for viewers to find their own connection with family unity and the love that binds us all.

The untouched sphere of my soul

2024 acrylic on canvas 50 x 50

€ 450

It is important to me to express my feminine and elegant side through make-up and
clothes. Neverthelss, my art and authenticity come through being able to live and love the person I truly am. This seems like an ongoing challenge to me, as the world mostly revolves around the concept of perfection in any way I can think of. It can be a very dark evil place as well but not even the darkest energy can destroy the love and light within my heart. No matter how much the physical world touches and manipulates me, my soul will always stay untouched and will always be able to make me remember who I am. Loving, kind and generous.

Is what I see reality?

2024 ink on paper 50 x 65

€ 650

Is What I See Reality?
With this work I want to explore the duality of seen and unseen, known and unknown. In a world which seems increasingly chaotic and disconnected, I wonder if we can still perceive another layer of reality, beneath the surface. To me this ‘fabric of reality’ represents the soul of all things, and with this work I want to invite the viewer to contemplate on this. How much can we know our reality through our physical senses? Is there another way to perceive the world, where the unknown meets the known? If only for a brief moment, we can let go of our own preconceived notions and perceptions, to sink into a deeper knowing, dancing with the soul of all things.

Female rage

2024 acrylic on canvas 120 x 100

€ 2.200

To be born in a woman’s body is not always about beauty and grace. Sometimes, it’s about hiding a dark side, one that emerges when we can no longer tolerate the injustices we face.

I’ve seen enough mistreatment and dismissive attitudes towards women. Our kindness is not a sign of weakness; it’s a choice. We are filled with love, beauty, and a deep desire to make the world a better place. But don’t mistake our gentleness for fragility.

There is a dark side within us, a rage that, when unleashed, is unstoppable. Respect us for who we are, for we are powerful beyond measure.
